| 2008-06-20 | Verns | We're so very honored to have been asked to play the final show of the Tartan Hearts. Pete is on his way to far, far away, and he will be missed. It looks like his farewell show will be the Tartan Hearts, Press Gang, Deadneck Fury, and us. |
| 2008-05-17 | Palomino | Looks like it's going to be us guys, the Dog Faced Models, The Bloody Hells, and Canmore's own Outright Defiance. Should be a good time indeed. |
| 2008-04-12 | Distillery | Unfortunately, both Bravado and the Seven Deadly Grins were unable to make this show, leaving us alone with The Grones and The Scorched Banditos. The three of us alone made for a whale of a good night for the Rock For Tits and Ass show. Thanks to Calgary Beer Core for a fine evening of noise and fundraising for the breast cancer folks. |
| 2008-03-14 | Verns | It was a fine night of fun for the Atomik Glok CD release party. We were joined by Edmonton's Shadowblade, United We Fall, and of course Atomic Glok. It was lots of fun, and despite being on an all-metal bill, we brought our nerdy form of punk rock foolishness. |
| 2008-02-22 | The Stetson | Despite one rather major setback, we had a fantastic night at the Stetson. The setback was that poor Shakes developed some rather severe health issues and was unable to play. Rather than cancel the gig we played a short set with Mikey Bastard on guitar, and it was a great time. There's no replacing Shakes, but Mikey showed everyone just why he's in eight thousand bands and deserves our love and respect. After we got off the stage we relaxed to the soothing sounds of the Conniving Cadavers, the heavy cholesterol of The Press Gang, and then celebrated the release of The Rigormorticians' brand new CD, Gravedigging With Sexy Results. And all the while we sang happy birthday to The Rocket Siobhan and Kellyborns. It was a fabulous night, save for the lack of Shakes. |
| 2008-01-26 | Verns | What a great way to start off the New Year. Sharing the stage with The Tartan Hearts, Rum Runner, Three Good Men, and The Downtown Prophets was just surreal, and the show was absolutely packed. That's got to be one of the best lineups we have ever been a part of. |
| 2007-11-17 | The Stetson | Another gig at the Stetson. Another Rock For Tots. Another total riot. What a way to finish up our year. We got to play with Scorched Banditos, Dead Man's Hand, and the Rigormorticians. It was such a fantastic show. A huge thanks to the CBC and the Stetson for setting it up! |
| 2007-11-09 | The Stetson | That was a fun night. I wouldn't describe it as a night of technical mastery, but perhaps as a ruckus of frivolous and entertaining goodness. The show started with the ever-awesome Conniving Cadavers who blew the roof off the joint, and then came The Press Gang, who as always turned out a killer set. Then we came along and wowed them with our hijinks. A great night with great pals in a great bar. Who needs more? |
| 2007-10-12 | Verns | After literally pulling an October show out of our butts with a week's notice, we played what was probably the best show we've had in a year. It's always a pleasure to play Verns, especially with friends like Seven Deadly Grins, Censeless, and metalheads We Found The Body. Unfortunately, Atomic Glok injured a guitarist and had to bow out of the show, but it was a hell of a night nonetheless. |
| 2007-09-15 | Devil's Gap | The celebration of Big Ugly and Dongo's birthdays was a decent time. We got to share the stage with the inimitable Deadneck Fury and the legends of drunken good fun, The Motherfuckers. Banff didn't really seem to get any of us, but the road trip alone was worth the price of admission, which was free since Dongo knew how to scam his way into the park... Check out the poster! |
| 2007-08-03 | Verns | Shakes's Birthday Bash was a whole bunch of fun. Definitely a riotous good time. We celebrated this special day by playing for the first time with The Press Gang, Fist of God, and The Black Wednesdays. Loads of giggles. Check out the poster! |
| 2007-06-08 | Verns | What a blast. We were doing a re-do on our live CD show gig along with Roadside Fire, The Grones, and Clinical Madness. It was a hell of a good night. |
| 2007-05-11 | The Stetson | Our triumphant return to the Stetson was an absolute blast. We went up first to ensure that our mammoth drum kit wouldn't be an issue, and then caught sets by Von Tomcats (tragically, their second-last show), Gudenpist, the Cryptomaniacs (tragically, one of their final shows as well), and Rum Runner. It was a fantastic time with a great crowd, a great venue, and far too many Jaggerbombs. |
| 2007-04-20 | The Palomino | I'm not sure how much was raised for the Tom Baker Cancer Center, but it must have been decent cuz the turnout for this show was incredible. Epi Demic, Ground Up, and The Turrettes were all a complete riot, and we didn't stink up the place either. |
| 2007-03-10 | Underground | As usual, the Underground was an absolute blast. There weren't a lot of bodies in the room, but those that were had a great time and let us know how much they appreciated our being there. Thanks to The Inhalers and The Suicide Wrists for a great freakin' night. |
| 2007-02-10 | Verns | What a total blast. Once again, Verns was just the right place at the right time for The Ostrich, us, and The Dog Faced Models. Rum Runner were just getting into the swing when they were forced to cut their set short due to a laceration to Al's skull that would require stitches. Outside of that one down note, the rest of the night was incredible. A huge warm thanks to all the bands (particularly Rum Runner, who epitomize kick ass in my opinion), to the venue, and to the crowd. |
| 2007-01-27 | The Distillery | Well, they can't all be good shows. We played with Deadneck Fury, and The Pissoffs, both of whom are kick ass bands and it was a pleasure to play with. We opened the show, and for whatever reason just couldn't hit the ground running. It was, however, a pleasure to play with both bands. |
| 2006-11-24 | Verns | That was a hell of a night. We opened for Verbal Deception, and Mark of Cain, two of the best local metal bands and also some of the nicest guys on earth. Any chance we get to play a show with these guys is welcome, and this one was just a total blast. We debuted (and destroyed) a new song called Capsicum Love that's about raping your rapist. Tell me that doesn't sound like a great night. VIEW THE POSTER! |
| 2006-11-4 | Verns | The second Rock For Tots show is in the bag, and it was an incredibly good time. The lineup featured Deadneck Fury, us, Hail Damage, and Seven Deadly Grins, which is in itself a pretty astonishly cool lineup. Then you throw in the fact that we were all there raising money to buy toys for kids at Christmas and you get a pretty sweet situation. The Rock For Tots isn't a charitable organization with a board of directors, it's a bunch of punks who take the money from their shows and use it not as a tax write-off, but as a way to brighten some kid's Christmas, and that's pretty god damned awesome. This event raised over $700 for the cause, and we're well on the way to doubling last year's donations. VIEW THE POSTER! |
| 2006-10-21 | Verns | Despite the unfortunate loss of Miss Ethyl Alcohol for the night (she was called away to Scotland for acts of international cruelty and humiliation on a visiting dignitary), we had an absolute blast. Between all the bands we raised in the area of $1300 for the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter, and we had us a total riot. A huge thanks to both Mikey Bastard and Elorps for taking over bass duties for the evening. Other bands on the show included Jenn Swayne, Nate Pike, The Killbillies, Seven Deadly Grins, Hail Damage, and BDFM. |
| 2006-09-03 | Heritage Hall Lethbridge |
Well, the Southern Alberta Hardcore and Metal Festival in Lethbridge featured a pile of incredible bands including Caveat, BDFM, Inner Surge, Red Tide, The Pindolls, Screams of Silence, and Into Eternity, was a total blast. We played a fantastic show to a great crowd, and the sun that was beating down on our necks through the windows behind us helped ensure we left everything we had on the stage. A hell of a great time. View the poster! |
| 2006-07-29 | Castle Pub | The CD release party for the Johnny Incognito/Broken Soldiers split CD Kissing Cousins was a great big ball of fun. Both bands played well, partied hard, and had a great time. Those in attendance didn't seem to hate us, so I guess it all went over fairly well. Thanks to everyone who showed up to support us. |
| 2006-06-17 | Verns | Our first show at Clint's new bar was a smash hit. The show was recorded and will be a part of a greater live compilation CD that Big Ugly Jim is putting out. A huge thank you to Deadman's Hand, The Conniving Cadavers, and BDFM for playing and to Calgary Beer Core for helping put the show on. A kick ass night indeed. VIEW THE POSTER! |
| 2006-06-03 | The Underground | This show was Tempered's final show, and we couldn't have asked for a better time. The bands (Tempered, Seven Deadly Grins, Halo, and Hypnopilot) were all very diverse but very cool, and this became a really sweet night of music and fun. On a personal note, Johnny Incognito put one what must be one of our best shows to date, having an absolute blast and paying tribute to our pals in Tempered. View the poster! |
| 2006-04-01 | The Stetson | This show was a fundraiser for the new Ronald MacDonald House that's going up in Calgary near the site of the new Children's Hospital, and we were more than happy to play it. The other bands on the bill were Smart Patrol, The Conniving Cadavers, The Sheglank'd Shoulders, and The Cryptomaniacs. The band sounded great, but Big Ugly Jim was crap for this show. Fortunately, nobody seemed to care, and we just played on into the night. It was also former (?) Calgary Stampeder Stu Laird's birthday that day, so there were all these 50-ish people in attendance. They bopped and weaved and started up some very funny pits. |
| 2006-04-01 | The Underground | We were given the chance to play the Inner Surge CD release party, and we jumped at the opportunity. Easily one of our favorite local bands, and the new CD is extremely well put-together. Joining us on the bill were Screams of Silence, Arcane, Kilbourne, and finally Inner Surge. It's always fun playing the Underground, and always fun being on such a kick ass bill. POSTER! |
| 2006-02-18 | Rendezvous Pub | Our first trip to Edmonton went fairly well, all things considered. We wound up playing last after Edmonton's Hostility and Self Rule, and though the crowd was small, we had a blast. We got to meet a few of our nerdy internet friends and see a few friends we haven't seen in ages, and we're definitely looking forward to heading our way north again soon. |
| 2006-02-17 | Castle Pub | What a kick ass time we had at the Castle with the Blind Assassins. All I can say is it was a hell of a way to spend a Friday night, surrounded by beer, internet celebrities, and the Calgary Beer Core crew. |
| 2006-01-27 | The Distillery | This was a blast. We opened the show for BDFM, Gudenpist and The Turrettes. I don't think I've had a night that fun in an awful long time (probably since our last gig in November!) but it sure was great to get up on that stage and blow up a little bit. Thanks to the Calgary Beer Core guys for putting on this show! |
| 2005-11-18 | Airdre Legion | This was our second all ages show, and a great turn-out indeed. Anastasis started us off with their Airdre CD release. Next came Thoughtless Action who really blew me away. I'd heard their CD before, but live was all the more entertaining. Then The Broken Soldiers blew the roof off, including playing their absolutely kick ass song "Johnny Incognito Sucks". The Two Dollar Ties took over and played a great set, then we stank up the joint something fierce. A total blast of an evening that we were very honored to play. |
| 2005-10-22 | The Bar Fly | It was our first time playing with Mark of Cain (who were releasing their demo CD that night), and they were so much fun. Then we played easily one of the shittiest sets of our lives (technically speaking... as far as the entertainment goes, we were delicious), and then our buddies from Halo finished off the night with some classic Halo tunes and a few new songs. It was a fun night, and we proved once again that Johnny Incognito can't draw flies. But we have fun. |
| 2005-09-10 | The Underground | Another fantastic night at the Underground. We played our first anniversary show as a band with the mighty Tempered and the all-powerful Sufferance, and it was such a great night. It's possible to have better nights, but I don't think it's all that likely. Damn. |
| 2005-07-09 | The Underground | The Calgary Slampede was a big success (if by big success you mean a few people showed up and caught a hell of an awesome night of live music). We were up first and delivered a fun set featuring Willy Nelson's On The Road Again, then The Amazing Larrys brought a little Shania Twain into our hearts. The Borderguards continued the night with an absolutely sweet set featuring some great cowboy tunes and their annual Stampede Sodomy song. Then The Dead Will Rise closed out the show with some very sweet growling and screaming. Poorly attended, but fucking awesome. |
| 2005-06-04 | The Bar Fly | Our pirate pals Verbal Deception asked us to play another show with them and the ever-killer Caveat. It was Terry's first night playing with Verbal Deception, we pulled out a few new songs, sang happy birthday to Lance from Sufferance, and generally had a killer night. Thanks to everyone who came out and packed the Bar Fly! |
| 2005-04-30 | The Underground | The CD release party for Rotten Dreams was a hell of a lot of fun. Verbal Deception and Halo put on absolutely killer sets and got the crowd ready for us. As for our set, I don't think we've ever put on a better show. View the poster. |
| 2005-04-15 | Nanton Community Center |
This was probably one the strangest shows we've played. The crowd was very small but very fun and ate up everything we threw at them. Unfortunately, we had to leave about an hour after our set and before Third Knuckle Deep and Divinity got their sets started due to all of us just suddenly succumbing to exhaustion. We've been racing to get the CD finished in time, and today had been the deadline. All that work and all that stress just caught up to us I suppose. It was our first time playing with Downtrodden, and they were excellent. The movies of Robert Lalonde were on display between bands and before the show, and they were a total blast. I wish the crowd could have been larger, but it was definitely a lot of fun. |
| 2005-03-11 | The Bar Fly | As a last-minute addition, we ended up joining Seconds to Sorrow and our buddies The Pindolls for a wild night at the Bar Fly. This is probably as much fun as I've had in a long time, and it was a night that saw the debut of my brand new chordless microphone. Much fun ensued. |
| 2005-02-04 | The Bar Fly | A hell of a fun show. We played with Entropy of Earth and Verbal Deception. |
| 2004-12-18 | The Underground | We played an amazing show, easily our best, as part of the Underground's second annual Charity Fundraiser. The money went to help out a local emergency shelter who deal with children in crisis. The show featured Warning By Sea, The Amazing Larrys, us, and Inner Surge. A spectacular night. |
| 2004-12-1 | The Shamrock | So much fun. We played one of the Roli Mack Bandwarz events with 12ounce and Samsin. We weren't trying to win and we insisted that we didn't get voted for, we just wanted to say thanks to Roli for all the breaks he gave us. Samsin really impressed the hell out of us, despite not being our typical style of music. That kid can sing, and despite being a very young band, they were stunningly tight and fun to watch. Johnny Incognito's involved a lot of spilled beer, really clear sound, and Dongo's full drum kit. We'll post pictures soon enough. |
| 2004-11-12 | The Bar Fly | This show was incredible. Our friends 12ounce started the show, then we played a wild and off-kilter set. Halo then took the stage and in the process of getting yet another noise violation from the police, blew the doors off the place. Last came Inner Surge, who were as tight and as wild as ever I have seen them. It was a great crowd and a great show. Thanks to all who came out! |
| 2004-10-15 | The Bar Fly | It's our first trip to the Bar Fly, but since TA Verns is closed now, it won't be our last. We'll be playing with Halo and Sentient. There will be a $5 cover at the door, and the show should start at 9:00. |
| 2004-09-04 | The Underground | Our first trip to the Underground was a huge success. We opened for Inner Surge and Stinkhammer. This was an unbelievably fun show, and we made a few new fans. Many thanks to Steve from Inner Surge for setting this show up. This gig is important because it was Ethyl's first gig, and she totally outdid herself. |
| 2004-05-07 | The Gate (SAIT) | The fine folks at Supernova included us in Yamaha's Last Band Standing competition. We didn't win, but it was a good show with a lot of fun. It was the first show to have a four-person lineup and also Joe's last gig. A big nod goes to the other bands we played with (The Dabblers, Seventh Rain, Hogpuncher, Slurr, Ultraviolet Catastrophe, and Arizonaz Last Goodbye). |
| 2004-04-02 | TA Verns | What an incredible show. We played with The Pindolls and Atumz Eve, and the show was spectacular. It was incredibly cool just to share a stage with these two bands. So much fun was had. |
| 2004-01-17 | TA Verns | Oh my. That was one absolutely awesome night. The Nate Pike Band were terrific as always, we played an incredibly tight show with lots of flair, and then the Pindolls absolutely stole the show with their power and their presence. This was a hell of a gig, and I'm just pleased as shit to have been there for it. |
| 2003-11-22 | TA Verns | Big thanks to the Nate Pike Band for this show. Twitch opened the show, then we showed up and did what was arguably one of our best sets ever, and then Nate and his band took the stage and blew our minds. An amazing night of music which must be repeated soon. |
| 2003-15-03 | TA Verns | Our second trip to TA Verns was an absolute blast. We opened for a metal band called the Pindolls, and I was blown away by how much fun it was to play with these guys. They were tremendous, and their crowd were a riot. |
| 2003-10-03 | TA Verns | Another hot gig. This was our first trip to TA Verns, and hopefully not our last. We played with the Nate Pike Band and Twitch, and frankly I believe all three bands did an amazing job. It's so great to see talent in Calgary working together. |
| 2003-09-29 | The Shamrock | With two days notice, the boys came out to help out our friend Roli Mack, who books the Shamrock Bandwarz shows. We wound up playing with the entirely fun KeithFrank!. We put on one of our best shows by far, and totally enjoyed the chance to play in a room that some of our best shows have come out of. |
| 2003-9-13 | Sam's Deli | Not our best show, but I think it was a solid effort. The crowd that came to see us enjoyed the hell out of this, but those that didn't seemed scared. It happens. We're scary. All in all, this was a hell of a lot of fun and many thanks to the Nate Pike Band and Twitch for sharing a stage with us. |
| 2003-8-20 | The Dublinner | This was an extra-special gig to celebrate Joe Rogan's birthday, so we showed up dressed in '80s rawk gawd attire. It was a hell of a lot of fun despite losing the PA part way through the show and having to improvise. |
| 2003-7-31 | Machine Nightclub | We did really well here, the only band on the bill. The show was a whole lot of fun, the crowd was terrific (though smaller than I had hoped), and those who were new faces seemed to really enjoy. View the pictures. |
| 2003-7-7 | The Shamrock | We had a great show and played with a cool band called Solus. It was their first gig, and they did a great job. |
| 2003-6-6 | The Dubliner | Opened for the Nate Pike Band. Show went extremely well. |
| 2003-5-31 | Rips Pub | Opened for the Nate Pike Band. Show went extremely badly. Just ask the very hostile management. However, the incomparable Dani Lantela was able to shoot some spectacular photos of this show. Sadly, these pictures are the ONLY good thing that came out of this gig. |
Okay all gigs below were gigs we had before getting this page up, and I didn't do a good job of keeping tabs on the dates, but they are in chronological order, which is something... |
||
| ??? | Bridgeland Commmunity Center | The Party Guy put on a party. We played with two '80s cover bands. Despite that, the crowd loved us. |
| ??? | The Shamrock | Final round for this particular Bandwarz. We placed third out of 54 bands. |
| ??? | The Shamrock | Third round. Did we really make it this far? |
| ??? | The Shamrock | Round 2, and we are finally learning how to put on a show. |
| ??? | Varsity Community Center | Our second gig and we're headlining a punk show. What a world. We played with Better Days and Day Pass. |
| ??? | The Shamrock | Can you say "wild card spot"? I thought so. We played with Alternate Ending and Abortion Grenade. |
