Ethyl Alcohol grew up in the system. Her first childhood crush was a boy named Ricky Timms. He was found face down wedged beneath flotsam in an irrigation canal in her native Manitoba. He had been beaten to death with a section of Hot Wheelz track. The only reason she gave for the murder was that she loved him so much she wanted him to see heaven. It became a pattern.

Eventually, she knew she had to leave town. There were too many memories, too many bodies, and not enough unsuspecting strangers, so she came to Calgary. It was there that she met Big Ugly Jim, the one man to whom no woman could ever be attracted, and since he was safe from her lust-filled murderous rage, he welcomed her into the band.
